My Services

1. Making sense of existing institutional data and turning it into action plans

Universities are becoming increasingly diverse, and their operational and development processes are more and more complex to run. As the flow of institutional data increases, the capacity of academic communities and their leaders to analyze it and use it in their regular decision-making practices can begin to feel insufficient.

A lot of data is out there – conducted surveys, department meeting minutes, reports, existing policies and regulations, organizational websites, and other texts documenting organizations’ activities. Some of this data is produced by or within the unit, while some come from other sources. Analysis of the relevant data provides a clear understanding of the issues, which leads to finding optimal solutions.

What I offer:

  • Review and analysis of institutional data to help the academic community and leaders understand where they are at and what to focus on

  • Development of conceptual frameworks for introducing changes and their measurement

  • Contextualization and re-translation of university-wide collected data, e.g. workplace surveys, to suit the unit’s contexts and needs

  • Customized action plans, policies, and regulations based on data analysis

2. Organizing and analyzing surveys to ensure all voices are heard

Many academic communities today are seeking ways to include underrepresented, historically and systemically marginalized voices, and are rethinking established academic practices. Regular surveys, focus groups, and interviews are great tools for examining individual perceptions and providing space for everyone to share their experiences, feedback, and concerns. Ethics and trust are crucial to the success of these processes.

What I offer:

  • Customized surveys designed to match your unit’s needs, assistance with data collection, analysis, and presentation of results in ways that are easy to understand and act on

  • Collaboration on your survey projects at any stage to strengthen the analysis and bring in new perspectives

  • Additional interviews and focus groups with targeted audiences

3. Helping to learn from others and creating resources for learning

Learning is crucial in implementing institutional changes. Alongside formal education, there are many ways of integrating non-formal and informal learning opportunities into community learning.

Many academic communities around the world face the same problems and navigate the same challenges. Learning from their experience and from academic and grey literature is one way to move forward.

What I offer:

  • Literature reviews and environmental scans of relevant concepts, policies and practices, and creating resources for learning

  • Review of learning opportunities available to the members of your academic community, identifying gaps and promising practices to implement

  • Design, facilitation, documentation, and evaluation of professional development programs, workshops, and other learning activities and services

Depending on the complexity of your project, my team can include research assistants and analysts to meet your deadlines and needs.
